Global warming -the burning problem
67
Continuous rising of temperature of earth and sea, even in small am- is global warming. Ex: effect of cutting a tree, running a car using gas, adding of poisonous chemicals to atmosphere by factories etc.Even small rises in temp. Causes great hardship as more water evaporates.
Climate change : Global warming causes climatic changes. This causes untimely rains, cyclones, floods, hot air, etc. This affects agriculture.
Reason for Global warming: Green house effect i.e. some gases collect at certain height and re-direct sun heat by earth. By this temp. of earth rises. Green house gases are- carbon-di-oxide, methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluro carbon (released by refrigerator and air cooler)
Cupenhegan meet
The recently held cupenhegan meet to reduce production of Carbon di oxide almost failed as America and England did not agree to cut down the release of Co2, but wanted to impose that condition on other countries.
Contribution to environmental pollution
72% of green house gases is released at atmosphere from 1950-2000 is the contribution of rich countries, The first 10 countries are
Sl.no Countries Amount
1) China 6 Trillion tones
2) USA 5.7 Trillion tones
3) Russia 1.56 Trillion tones
4) India 1.51 Trillion tones
5) Japan 1.2 Trillion tones
6) Germany 805 Million tones
7) Canada 544 Million Tones
8) Britain 568 Million Tones
9) S. Korea 475 Million Tones
10) Italy 474 Million tones
Quito agreement
A summit at Quito in Japan held in 1997 signed an agreement.184 countries , including U.S.A. participated in it.The agreement restricted developed countries (wealthy nations)from releasing green house gases to atmosphere and insisted that they should reduce such emission. It was also decided in the agreement that rich countries should transfer the technology to prevent global warming to developing countries, and also help financially .But America even after signing the agreement, opposing that it will not reduce the release of green house gases, but insisting that China and India must do it! Only Germany and Britain have implemented restrictions effectively and sincerely. In other countries, the percentage of green house gases being released, is on increase.
Implementation of Quito agreement means, closing down of some industries. So U.S.A is opposing
India has implemented the programme under the project-‘Ecosmart’.
Effects of Global warming
Effects of global warming are the following:
1.Rise in the sea-level 2. Melting of mountain snow on large scale
3 Warm air, rise in temperature. 4 Heavy rains and flood
5 Diseases of different kinds 6 Economic problems
7 Famine 8 Global conflict 9 Imbalance in the fertility of soil.Reduction in agricultural products 10. Huge changes in Bio-environment.
In order to come out of these maladies, we, the people should insist our governments to put restrictions on the release of greenhouse gases.

Enjoyed reading your hub.Very informative. I hope you continue writing about this problem and keeping us aware.Thank You also for answering one of my questions.Enjoy your journey with great peace.
Interesting hub. The photo of the child is so saddening to imagine how a being could survive so undernourished. God Bless.

Great informative and sensible Hub! We everyone should understand the effects of global warming. Otherwise we can not save our beautiful planet which may be filled up with seawater. I hope steady increase in global warming will cause considerable increase in sealevel in next ten years.
