EXQUISITE CRAFTSMANSHIP BY TALENTED INDIAN HOUSEWIFE

Majority of Indian ladies are housewives.But that in no way that should make others think that they are less talented or spend their time in a useless manner.They, in no way inferior to many working ladies in other countries.They are equally talented, dedicated, and spend their leisure time in such hobbies and crafts that do good to their home, bring peace and satisfaction to themselves.

In one of my previous hubs, ‘Artistic Cotton garlends’ I have written about a lady who prepares artistic garlands using just cotton threads by hand, without using any machine. She is Mrs. Usha Rajashekhar,aged around 48, wife of Mr.Rajashekhar, a textile dealer,who is leading a happy family life with her husband and two sons.She is a peace loving, god fearing lady.The family has high faith in God.

This lady has high talent in preparing handicraft idols and toys. To express her talent in this field, Every year, during Ganesha festival( August) She pres Ganesha statues in a different manner and allows public to see it. She is doing it for the past twelve years.

In the past years, she has prepared Ganesha idols with different materials like-artificial pearls, small bells, coconuts, cereals, etc.In the year 2009 she did it by using Tharmacol, glass pieces, beads and such other things.

This time,Mrs.Usha had a different idea about installing Ganesha,the god of knowledge and the trouble shooter.She decided to depict Him as sitting on a peacock chariot and that drawn by his favorite animal-rat.

And here you can see how she did it extraordinarily .She has spent about 3 months to materialize her imagination.For two months, she worked for about three hours a day and in the last one month she worked for about 10 hours each day.

She is supported morally and financially by her husband Mr. Rajashekhar, who is the proud owner of a textile showroom -Kaveri textiles' in Tumkur, and assisted by her engineer son and other helpers.

See more pictures below. Remember, no machine is used here. Only small instruments like - scissors, sewing machine, etc are used.the peacock feathers are not real. They are of thermacol ,glass beads and paints.

People and media have recognized her talent. Every time she installs new things, media people rush to her house, take photographs and give it a coverage.But, international community is coming to know about her for the first time, through these Hub pages
